Construction
To date I've purchased almost all of the necessary hardware, identified my wood sources, and I've cleared out the shop in preparation for construction.
See the Material Sources page for details of where I'm getting my supplies.
The hardware is starting to arrive! So far I've received a shipment of nails, screws, threaded bronze rod, brass half-round strips (for the bilge stringers), and some other odds and ends from Jamestown Distributors. I've also received a beautiful bronze eyebolt for my bow transom (for the painter) and a nice oar hold-down from Bristol Bronze. The copper nails and roves arrived just the other day from Faering Design.
I've acquired the planking stock. Port Orford cedar in the form of five 12' planks about one and a half inches thick and about a foot wide. I'll be resawing these for the planks and the keel. Port Orford cedar smells great.
I've also got the strongback set up - including the overhead beam used for bracing things. Here are two pictures of the strongback (with uprights to support the keel plank) and the two molds made from pine. You can see the various patterns for molds and transoms in the second picture - laying on top of the planking stock if you look closely.
Here are the two transoms - fore 'n' aft. Made of White Oak and ready to be riveted together.
Here's a nice profile drawing of the pram with sailplan:
